French Occupation Zone Stamps Designed by V.K. Jonynas

Description:

War refugee one of most renowned 20th century Lithuanian artist V. K. Jonynas won international stamp design competition announced by French zone administration. After this winning Jonynas succesfully received the order to create postage stamps for all French occupation zone lands – Baden, Rheinland – Pfalz, Wurttemberg and Saarland. V. K. Jonynas created 35 designs for these lands, 149 differend stamps and 18 stamped postcards in total. Every stamp has name of designer. 

 Exhibit shows all postage stamps and stamped postage cards created by Jonynas and their usage.

 All material of exhibit is presented taking into account artistic aspects – showing how the design of the stamp looks when printed in one or the in other color, etc.
